About me

I am mum to 6 children ranging from early 20's to pre school. I was diagnosed with Aspergers in 2013 after my youngest daughter Freya was diagnosed with ASD. I've obviously always had my own difficulties but didn't know why and I might never have known if I hadn't had Freya. I had 4 girls close together when I was younger and then had the smaller 2 after an 11 year gap. The older girls all have varying degrees of difficulties symptomatic of Autism but only 2 have asked to go through the diagnosis process.
Life has always been hectic, probably due to my own levels of anxiety, there are only 3 kids left at home now but I still have the responsibilities of the other 3 and think I always will, like most mums I guess.
I started this blog as an outlet for all the confusing feelings that arose when the word Autism was first said to me, and I feel strongly about dispelling the myths of the condition that come from old studies and have since been disproven.
I wanted to share my experiences of living surrounded by ASD to help others better understand the condition and also for other parents struggling with kids with similar issues diagnosed or not, it's great to know you're not alone.
I am also quite opinionated and not easily influenced so I enjoy writing the odd review of products we've tried or places we've been.
